Thaci: You remove any dilemma, I'm pro-transforming KSF into the military.

During his conference today, Thaci said he knew nothing that the Government has approved of the DSF Bill, through which the Security Force is transformed into the military. But through a Facebook status released earlier, he has backed the bill, calling for it to be sent to the Assembly as soon as possible.

This is the full status of the President:

Due to narrow, sometimes electoral and sometimes ideological interests, the leadership in Kosovo has delayed transforming the Security Force into the Kosovo Armed Forces. I was constantly consistent at this point. Kosovo should have its own army. With my initiative as president, we have undertaken a awareness campaign, both inside and outside Kosovo, to perceive our friends for the importance of this process. Our allies know this process must be completed without delay. And we have made it clear that no one, no external factor, can veto our statehood. I want to remove any dilemma: I am pro-transforming the Kosovo Armed Forces Security Force. The Kosovo Army is no threat to the region. Rather, it will be in service to preserve peace, state, regional and global security. Therefore, at this point, Kosovo institutions speak in a voice and we have a stance. The law adopted by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo should also be prosecuted in the Assembly, and the period until its adoption must be used by all of us to convince the remaining skeptics of this process. I am convinced that in full co-ordination with the US and our allies in NATO we will complete this delayed but vital process for Kosovo. HTH
