While President Hashim Thaci in Macedonia has promoted the idea of changing borders, Chief Prime Minister Kadri Veselini in Albania and Haradinaj in Pristina have reiterated that changing borders in dialogue with Serbia should not be on the agenda.
The opposing positions between the two former partners, politicologist Belul Beqaj sees as Veselin's attempt to emerge from Thaci's shadow.
The president continues to refer to changing the border with Serbia with demarcation, once with correction. In the meeting he had with Macedonia's prime minister, Zoran Zaev, the president has talked about “the default of demarcation of the border with Serbia”.
The border demarcation process between Kosovo and Serbia must be completed, which is about 430km. The agreement will be of the European spirit and co-ordinated in full with the US and the European Union. In this direction, we will have a complex process, in which there will be debates and non-slight rejection”, Thaci stressed.
He has given support to the resolution proposed by his office, representatives of the Valley, for joining Kosovo, until he has added that it is now up to the Parliament to decide on it.
