Milan police patrols have arrested 23 total persons for prostitution exploitation, all Albanian citizens except one Romanian woman, all residents in the provinces of Cosmo, Monza and Brianza.
The detainees are accused of using prostitution of at least 25 girls, including Albanian, Bulgarian, Moldovan, Polish, Romanian and Hungarian. Three are also charged with illegal possession of firearms, while some 25 thousand euros have been seized during the raids.
The arrests were carried out Thursday, but only today have been published by Italian media, while some of the detainees result in persons being on the run until yesterday.
As a result of the investigation, carried out through telephone wiretapping and tracking agents, none of the exploited girls filed charges against the detainees, while two of them controlled the activity even though they were previously criminal precedents. Girls, in their activities, were even checked through constant calls and SMS. These were the very ones who accompanied girls from their prostitution sites to their homes or to their customers ' homes. /Tch
