In this interview, some elements, such as territorial division, international guarantees for Serbs who remain in the Albanian part, special status for religious objects, and work on the concept of local self-government.
Ahmeti says the same government strategy has been implemented in the past 20 years.
He has stressed that it should not be wasted time but that urgently start discussing the platform and strategy with 2/3 of the Concensus Assembly as broad as social.
Then the negotiating team will be mandated to implement that platform as well as 2/3.
Below Ahmeti's full post:
The following are some parts of Zoran Dindjic's recent interview, Serbia's late prime minister in 2002, and parts of that year's Serbian government strategy.
The first concrete request to insist on is the return of the army and police contingent, which is envisioned with Resolution 1244. I'm gonna have to ask for the exact date of return. Very unlikely that will happen, but by insisting on this, we create space for other demands.
This can be answered now when the Constitutional Corbiza's deadline is passed. Since Resolution 1244 is not being applied properly, and since with the Framework situation in Kosovo and Metohija has not improved, we have the right to seek new mechanisms for normalising the situation.
This constitutionality will be reflected in a kind of federalisation of Kosovo and Metohija, with the acceptance of the Serbian entity as political acts, which has its institutions through which it would accomplish its interests.
If Kosovo and Metohia go towards independence and we can't stop it then we should seek
- Territorial Division
2. Effective international guarantees for Serbs remaining in the Albanian part and
3. A special statue of religious objects is needed
4. Intensively working on the concept of local self-government (creating municipal assembly networks, local communities and fables
Serbian MPs in institutions need to talk energetically about the failure of the constitutional framework, the non-invention of Resolution 1244, and seek new solutions in terms of our concept of Kosovo federalisation.
We need to get some Security Council members back and as many Western governments as possible. You should have animated influential media in the West like Spiegel in Germany, New York Times in the United States, Washington Post, etc. ”
More or less, this strategy has been implemented in the last 20 years by Serbia. So we don't need to waste much time to understand what Serbia has done and what it wants to do.
What we should waste time on is our strategy as Kosovo and as Albanian political spectrum. So far, we have not had long-term real state strategies, despite changing governments and politicians. If we do not do so quickly, Serbia's strategy will be implemented fully and without obstacles from us.
The discussion on platforms and strategy with 2/3 of the Concensus Assembly should be launched urgently. Then the negotiating team should be mandated, which will implement that platform as well as 2/3.
Day-to-day handling of this issue for electoral benefit will bring us to the defunctordial of the state and undoing the work that has been done for decades to get here.
