Kosovo's flag of state in half the spear, the surrounding waste, and the total lack of care are seen in several photos that testify to the plight of Meje's martyrs' cemetery in Gjakova. Kosovo Cultural Heritage Director Sali Shoshi has posted several photos this morning, showing the plight of the cemeteries of 376 Albanians slaughtered, including innocent children.
“Meje graves left behind, their entire circle abandoned. In Meya on April 27, 1999, 376 Albanians, children and innocent men who were expelled from their homes and on the road to Albania were separated from their families and slaughtered by Serb forces. Meja is Kosovo's Srebrenica. These cemeteries and those victims deserve more respect!” wrote Shoshi on his Facebook post.
The Meja massacre is considered among the most massive during the recent war in Kosovo.
