The AP writes that 18-year-old Adilang after a week had been without food and had survived hunting fish and drinking seawater.
Adilang told the AP that he had lit the lamp every time he saw a ship pass into the vicinity.
“I thought I would never see my family again, and I prayed every day”, said he, who returned to his village in Indonesia earlier this month.
The NBC writes that Adilang had read the Bible alone in the ocean, while sharks had often swimming around his boat.
