The Serbian officials' statements rejecting the adoption of bills by the Kosovo government leading to the Kosovo Army formation are continuing.
He is the chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Kosovo, Milovan Drescu, who has said the Kosovo Government's movement on the formation of the army shows Pristina's reluctance to reach final agreements with Belgrade.
He has said this initiative is harmful and destabilising for dialogue, now aimed at a final solution.
This move shows the rise in Pristina's reluctance to reach a final agreement with Belgrade, and this certainly has damage and destabilises dialogue in the area of the final resolution of Kosovo's”, Drescu says.
Drescu for Serbian Radio Television has said that Kosovo must give up the creation of the Army as it is in complete opposition to Resolution 1244, which stipulates that it alone KFOR can be a military force in Kosovo.
“This means that they must change the constitution (of Kosovo) to form the so-called Kosovo Armed Forces. To change the constitution requires approval of Serb representatives in the Kosovo Parliament, the Serbian List will not allow it”, he said.
But Serbian Defence Minister Alexander Volin has also said the Kosovo Army according to him is a danger to security in the region, calling on the international community to react on the basis of Resolution 1244, broadcast news.
“We call on the International Community to ensure the respect of Resolution 1244 and not allow the formation of Armed Forces, which would jeopardise Kosovo's security and stability, but also the regime. Pristina's bid for the formation of the so-called Kosovo Army is a plan for destroying Vuciqi's peace efforts”, Voulin has said.
According to Volin, Pristina's only goal of forming the Army is the conflict with Serbia.
The only goal of forming the Army is the conflict with Serbia and we will not allow the creation of formations for Haradinaj and Wessel to reach Nis”, Voulin has said.
And Volin went even further in his response, saying the Serbian Army is ready to protect its citizens no matter what can happen.
We remember that today the Government of Kosovo adopted the draft law on transforming the KSF into the Army. After that, the same one is expected to be sent to the Assembly.
