The Social Democrat Party has considered that the decision for the negotiating team that will represent Kosovo in the talks with Serbia has no meaning other than to intervene in a decision-making process that is the exclusive responsibility of the Kosovo Assembly.
According to the PSD, today's government-appointed team is nothing except that President Hashim Thaci's harmful and dangerous adventures, which are insisting on being at the top of the dialogue in light of the proportional rejection of the majority of people's elected and civil society over him and his goals.
As before, the Social Democrat Party considers that for a meaningful negotiation process, the pillars that define the content and purpose that this process should have.
In order for this process to have legitimacy, according to the PSD, agreement on all parliamentary parties is needed to be the primary responsibility for this process, as the highest legislative body, while it is necessary that the country's two-thirds of the Assembly be approved state platforms for dialogue.
The PSD also considers that through the vote the Negotiator Team, which the Parliament can download if it violates the platform, should establish a special commission for monitoring the entire process.
In line with this, The PSD estimates that the Republic of Kosovo cannot be represented by this negotiating team in such an important process.
If neither President Thaci nor this team expresses the national consensus on the matter. The PSD also clears that it participates in the organised session in co-ordination by the three opposition parties, but not in emergency hearings called by power to legitimise the threat the government is trying to make the highest decision-making institution in the Republic of Kosovo”, the PSD media community said.
Otherwise, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, today after the government's meeting, has said he has appointed a delegation for dialogue with Serbia, expected to be debated at a meeting in the Kosovo Assembly.
He has said that with this delegation consisting of Fatmir Limaj, leader Enver Hoxhaj, Behgjet Pacolli, Mahir Jagcilar, Avni Arifi and Dardan Gashi, it is not intended to prevent the president from dialogue with Serbia at a time when President Thaci has come up with proposals for border corrections.
According to him, only his president and office will address the dialogue with Serbia, but anything offered to the president, the matter will also be offered to the delegation led by Fatmir Limaj.
Haradinaj once again reiterated that nobody has the mandate and authority to negotiate Kosovo's borders and territory.
