Kosovo Assembly Opposition parties, The LDK, VV, PSD and Alternatives today have sent letters to Federica Moghrini. So has made Avdullah Hoti, chief of the LDK's Parliamentary Group in the Parliamentary Group in the Assembly, known.
Hoti has said that their position regarding recent developments in Kosovo has been clarified in this letter.
Also expressed is the frustration of the opposition, which represents 60 per cent of Kosovo's citizens, regarding the idea that territories are being discussed in exchange or restructuring of borders.
“These ideas, which will not have support and any agreement which is derived from such ideas will not be backed”, wrote Hoti.
Avdullah Hoti has published this document, where he also wrote that it also requires that the final phase of dialogue with Serbia be based on clear principles, as well as on a clear framework, not to put aside Kosovo's state subjectivity, which is defined with the Declaration of Independence, the opinion of the International Court of Justice and the fact that Kosovo has been accepted by the majority of the world's free nations.
The start of a new dialogue process without necessary preparations, as the current government is trying, will fail. It is the full responsibility of the Kosovo Assembly to approve the platform for dialogue with a majority of 2/3, and only in that form can the legitimacy of this process be ensured. Any other form of dialogue development is destined to fail. It is in the interest of Kosovo's citizens to reach such a consensus within the Kosovo Assembly”, wrote Avdullah Hoti on Facebook.
The current “government has lost its legitimacy to represent Kosovo in this process and that a new legitimacy of the Kosovo Assembly should occur according to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
Highly praising the European Union's role in this process and the support of the United States of America, Kosovo's opposition parties believe both should be fully involved and also require that the final agreement with Serbia mean full normalisation of relations between the two states. Total normalization can only be achieved with mutual recognition. The final agreement with Serbia should enable Kosovo immediate membership in international organisations -- before all in the UN -- and pave the way for EU and NATO membership”, says Hoti.
