Modavia like Kosovo, deposit 6 gylenists in Turkey

Turkish and Moldovan intelligence services reported that they have arrested at least six Turkish citizens employed in a chain of private high schools in Moldova, under suspicion that they are part of the Turkish cleric's organisation, Fethullah Gylen. Details remain unclear, but Moldova's secret service, the SIS, declared that its agents have carried out a <x0frame” on September 6th of this year at “several different locations”, with the aim of “preventing threats to national security”.

Turkish media also confirmed that the arrests occurred Sunday. Gunes, a pro-government newspaper in Turkey, boasted that Turkey's Intelligence Service, MlT, arrested six members of the organisation they call FETO in Turkey.

“MlT is back at the scene. Six FETO members were detained in Moldova”, the Turkish daily Gunes writes.

Meanwhile, the Amnesty International organisation indicated that the six arrested in Moldova have been deported to Turkey and criticised the Moldovan government.

The Moldovan “Autorities ignored their international obligations for human rights when they arrested and expelled seven Turkish citizens, who allegedly sought asylum in Moldova”, said in an AI response.

Turkey accuses cleric Fetullah Gylenn and his movement, Hyzmet, of organising the failed coup in July 2016.

A scenario similar to this of Moldova happened in Kosovo, in March of this year. In the same way that the authorities of Moldova had acted, so had the Kosovo authorities. They had extradited six Gylenists to Turkey even though they had permission to stay in Kosovo.

Now six months after their extradition, authorities in Pristina have provided no explanation on why six Turkish citizens living in Kosovo had infiltrated Turkey.

It is known, however, that both countries had received intelligent services in Kosovo as well. After that event, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had dismissed the head of the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence at the time.
