LDK, VV boycott Air Protection Group

Not only at the hearings, but also at parliamentary commissions position and opposition are failing to find common language. Opposition parties' work player has continued at the meeting of the Commission for Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, Environment and Space Planning that was held today where the Defence Bill [...] was considered.

Opposition parties' work player has continued at the gathering of the Commission for Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, Environment and Space Planning, which was held today where the Air Protection Bill was considered.

Until this Commission member Ganimete Musliu from the PDK proposed that a working group be formed for drafting recommendations for the draft law on air protection from pollution, two deputies from the opposition Besa Gagerri from LDK and Salih Zyba from Vetevendosje refused to become part of this group, as well as vote on the bill.

This is due to the political circumstances recently occurring for not calling the extraordinary session for the resolution- dialogue with Serbia.

This law is necessary, I really wish that the air quality issue would change for Kosovo, because we left a year behind, last winter we had many problems with air quality. I highly doubt this government has done something or prepared this year, or this winter with a better air quality. We were very clearly declared, we will not be part of the ʹWorking Group, more I am not going to give an explanation, the Democratic League of Kosovo has its positions”, Gager stressed.

MP Musliu demanded that a working group be formed, which will analyse under the bill in question, and then proceed at the parliamentary session.

“E respect their decision, are in opposition, want to act that way. I'm about to be collaborators with everyone, I'm all contributed, with the best laws on Kosovo. It's their policy, whether it's in the Commission, I respect everyone's decision, because we're not here to do the trial to anyone, but not to block the work for anyone, Musliu stressed.

LVV MP Salih Zyba said they are not opposed to the draft air protection law from pollution, but said they reject the form of working practices in the Assembly.

We were clear when we talked, I'm also talking about our attitude. There's no need to be a government lawyer or a majority lawyer, much less a practice that hasn't been shown functional. Because this meeting began with new practices, whatever innovation is, there is a response. We have attitude and we will contribute, we are not against the functioning of law”, Zyba said.

MP P SDS Salih Salihu requested consensus from the two opposition parties to become part of the processing group. The six-vote commission pro-voted MP Salihu leader of the Workers Group, Ganimete Musliu, Muharrem Nitaj, Danush Ademi, were voted in.

While rapporteurs on this commission were officials of the Ministry of Environmental Environment and Spatial Planning, where the Ministry's representative, Nezafete Hakaj, said the draft law on protecting air from pollution is intended for every citizen to live with clean environment and air, and that this bill is in harmony with EU norms and directives.

This bill aims to ensure and regulate citizens' right to live in a clean-air environment, protecting human health, wildlife, flora and cultural values in the environment from air pollution”, Hakaj stressed.

The Commission has also considered the Commission's Work Plan for the annual 2018 session, but there was opposition from opposition parties to that point as well.
