Today marks the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack, which left 2996 people dead and over 6 thousand injured in the United States.
The day long-remembered began after a plane crashed on 93-99 North Tower level at 8:46 a.m. in World Trade Center.
A few minutes later, at 9:03, another passenger plane crashed into the 75-85 South World Trade Center floor.
All passengers on both planes were left dead after the crash.
Within an hour of attacks at the Twin Towers, a third plane crashed into the Pentagon, Washington. September 11 is known as the most terrible day and the most deadly attack America has ever seen.
As thousands gathered today at the memorial ceremony, we bring you a collection of rare photos of then President George W. Bush, during this tragic event.
