While state representatives have expressed different positions on the topic of redressing borders or exchanging territories between Kosovo and Serbia, connoisseurs and political circumstances in the country say these policy differences weaken Kosovo's position in these talks and endanger deeper internal divisions, both political and within society itself.
Analyst Belul Beqaj, in a pronomination for Telegraphy, has said that Thaci is embarrassed and blackmailed thinking he will thus save himself, while other leaders are aware that if they follow Thaci-led locomotive, they will experience his fate.
According to him, the two presidents of Kosovo and Serbia have reached a confidential agreement, but as he said, Germany will not allow the Western Balkans to re-contaminated “ ”.
“No dilemma, Vuciqi and Thaci have reached a confidential agreement. This deal will be tried to sell as a compromise. But their agreement conflicts with the mood of most citizens in Serbia and Kosovo because of them. Since the seven-year dialogue on normalizing reports has been made by abnormal acts. I believe Germany will not allow the Western Balkans to recontaminated”, Beqaj said.
As for the opposition's stance, Beqaj estimates opposition lethargy will cost the opposition and citizens of Kosovo.
The Thaci adventure would not be as current as if the opposition were not passive. But better late than never. The opposition has finally seized the risk, so there is hope that the opposition arguments will testify to the prevalent power in the face of the power being imposed without solid arguments from Thaci”, Beqaj has said, among other things.
While life Krasniqi from KDI has indicated that the topic for correction or exchange of territories is a very sensitive issue that could jeopardise regional peace and stability.
“The issues related to changing borders are very sensitive issues that could endanger regional peace and stability. Kosovo is an independent state of internationally defined territorial integrity. It's a multiethnic state. In talks with Serbia, Kosovo should not violate its territorial integrity, maintain its unitary constitutional functioning, consolidate its internal sovereignty by permanently removing Serbia's influence, achieve mutual recognition, UN membership, and resolve the issue with non-connogressive states of the EU and NATO by taking the race for Euro-Atlantic roads as equal-right”, Krasniqi said.
According to her, Kosovo institutions should seek reciprocity of Valley Albanians' rights with the rights of the Serb community in Kosovo.
It has estimated that over the issue of dialogue, a unique state stance should be built on the basis of a broad political consensus, because the lack of a unity, weakens Kosovo's position in these talks, and jeopardises deeper political divisions and within society itself.
Krasniqi added that the lack of a state platform in this process of dialogue shows a lack of transparency, since the country's institutions, as well as Kosovo Assembly deputies, are not aware of what is happening in this process.
The lack of transparency on the dialogue process continues to remain problematic that has accompanied this process since its beginning. Meetings between institutional leaders and ruling coalition partners, beyond the lack of unique state access, prove that institutions are not informed of what is happening to this process, as Kosovo Assembly deputies are unaware. Until there is a state platform that determines among other things which topics will be discussed in this process of dialogue and when there is a lack of transparency, it remains unclear what will be discussed”, Krasniqi stressed.
Krasniqi has called the call for an extraordinary session on the part of the opposition a positive step.
