The Institute of Statistics published official data, where it states that in total for the 8th month 2018, 4.4 million foreigners have entered Albania, with a 17% increase in proportion to the same period a year ago.
According to INSTAT, the number of Albanian and foreign citizens entering Albanian territory in August 2018 is 2,120.822, compared to August 2017, this indicator results in a 21.1% increase.
In August 2018, the number of foreign citizens entering the country is 1,449.952. Compared to August 2017, this number has increased by 26.9 %.
As a quarter, it reveals I NSTAT, the number of foreign citizens entering our country in the eight quarters of 2018 is 4,397,638 increasing by 16.8 %, compared to the same period in 2017.
INSTAT figures also confirm projections of the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC), which announced a widespread increase in Albanian tourism during 2018.
In a general analysis, W The TTC cites the impact of Albanian tourism on the Bruto Interior Product, on employment, on the number of visitors, as well as on the total investment.
The WTTC predicts all these factors on the rise.
According to her, the direct contributions of tourism to GDP during 2017 were 134. 1 billion dollars ( The USSD 1,124.1mln), or 8.5% of total GDP, while for 2018 an increase of 3.9% in 2018 and an increase of 4.7% per year over 2018-2028.
This increase will amount to 220.4 billion dollars ( USSD 1,847.2 mln) or 9.3% of total GDP in 2028.
According to W TTC total contribution for 2017 was $414.2 billion ( USSD 3,471.9 mln) or 26.2% GDP and forecast is an increase of 4.4% in 2018 and an increase of 4.7% per year to 684.2 billion dollars ( USSD 5,735.0 mln) or 28.9% GDP in 2028.
Meanwhile, the direct contribution to tourism employment during 2017 was 93,500 jobs (7.7% of total employment). This is expected to increase 3.3% in 2018, as well as an increase of 1.4% annually in 111,000 jobs (8.8% of total employment) in 2028.
In 2017, the total contribution of tourism to employment, including jobs indirectly supported by the industry, was 24.1% of total employment (291,500 jobs).
