Every day as many as 70 children seek bark in the streets of Pristina. The amount they achieve during one day amounts to 160 euros per person, while the municipality of Pristina and the Kosovo Police appeal to citizens not to offer contributions to these children, as they are the target of irresponsible persons.
Webi Mujku, director of the Centre for Social Affairs in the Pristina municipality, said they are committed to getting children off the road, appealing to citizens not to give gifts to these children, as according to Mujk, they are not assisted by giving them gifts of charity.
There are between 30 and 60 children on the street during the day, depending on meteorological conditions, the number ranges from 60 to 70 children on the street. So we've asked all citizens not to give gifts to these children, because in this way they're only increasing the number of these children on the street”, he said.
Mujku said most of these researchers' lifestyles are from Albania, and the amount they achieve in one day amounts to 160 euros.
In the last shares that have been raided, none of the age researchers have been below 40, 60 to 80 euros. There have been up to 160 euros of them that have been realized by day. These are staggering sums, and the entire family is being organized and on the streets. ”
Meanwhile, Salih Dragidela, chief of the Kosovo Police Project and Prevention Sector, told Radio Kosovo that children do not know the risk they have, and, as Dragidela said, behind these children remain adults.
These kids standing on the streets and in front of cars are risking themselves, but they're also creating a bad image. Allegations are that behind these children are some careless people who are forced to ask for a freewill offering. ”
Kosovo police, the Pristina municipality and several other non-governmental organisations are preparing a plan with which they aim to get children off the road. Under this plan, a multidisciplinary group will be formed, expected to stay on the road for more than 12 hours to calculate cases of forcing children to take to the streets.
