The holy Father made these comments on the second day of his historic trip to the Republic of Ireland, at the “Marian” church in Knock, Maino County. He said no one can be touched by the stories of those who have suffered abuse, have been robbed of innocence, and remained marked by painful memories.
This is the first visit of a pope to Ireland in 39 years. Koicido visit with a Catholic global event, the world family meeting, held every three years.
During his first day of his trip, Pope Francescu had admitted that he was ashamed of the Catholic Church's failure in dealing with flagrant crimes of clergy sexual abuse and made these comments in a speech at Dublin Castle.
He then met with eight survivors of sexual abuses, who are taught to tell them that abuse is morally unacceptable. Everything happens after Irish Prime Minister Leo Vardkar gave a strong warning to the pope to take action against the clergy involved in child abuse and those who kept it a secret.
A former Vatican official has already asked the pope to resign, saying he too was aware of charges of sexual abuse by an American cardinal for five years before accepting his resignation last month.
