According to the Kosovo Police Inspectorate on the date 08.08.2018, under official duty it has begun the preliminary investigation at the Regional Police Directorate in Gjakova over allegations of neglect and failure to perform duties by police officials in connection with the case “grave murder”, which has occurred in the village of Brecoc Gjakova.
IPK investigators have consistently taken various investigative actions in consultation with the competent prosecutor to assess the police reactions and the circumstances of the case, which are summed up as follows:
By 7:08.2018, victim V. M. Rudze along with her brother had contacted the Kosovo Police, respectively, police officials of the Gjakova Regional Directorate suggesting before investigators that she had accepted some e-mails (in addition to the threatening message there were prayer content to return victims to the family) from suspect P. Lighten up. The suspect on the same date had gone to the victim's parents' home along with some of his relatives and had asked the same to return to his home in the village of Bitesh.
After interviewing the victim by police investigators, the same were consulted by the caretaker prosecutor and initiated the “Canning” case against suspects P. Lighten up. After opening the case, police station investigators in Gjakova have launched the operational action company, where they had originally gone to the village of Bitesh to the home of his alleged police escort to interview him in connection with the case “Canning”. After investigators at the Gjakova Police Station had not encountered the suspect in his house, the same had tried to contact him over the phone, but the suspect had not answered the phone.
Referring to random paperwork by Kosovo Police has proven that even on the critical date, no police officials sought protection.
All this effort by police officials in the Gjakova Police Station to confront and contact suspect P. Ruds continued until 6:30 after 7:08.2018.
According to the findings, there are currently no elements of any illegal action or action on the part of police officials from the Regional Directorate of the Gjakova Police.
The IPK in consultation with the Founding Prosecutor in Gjakova will continue investigating and analyzing any action or failing to act by police officials from DDRP-Gjakova until the full white light of this event.
