The ISHP says that for two years in Albania there is no case of this disease, given all tests conducted on all suspected cases.
It is claimed that since 2011, surveillance has been imposed in Albania for the early discovery of Western Nile Fevers throughout the country, and especially the identity of central nervous system infections caused by it.
Also reinforced have been the laboratory capacity of diagnosis, including the molecular capacity of this disease near the virology laboratory in ISHP.
Also, a risk assessment has been carried out for Albania in which high risk areas where we have a reinforced surveillance and control.
ISHP this season in collaboration with E CDC (European Center of Disease Control) has set measures to prevent the spread of this disease as follows:
) Strengthening the surveana for West Nile Ethhe and central nervous system infections
Daily communication with health facilities in the country for early seizures
) Preparing virology lab near I Saturdays to conduct diagnosis and co-operation of this laboratory with the European Emergency Disease Network
Surveillance Strengthened in Horses and Birds
The areas of awareness, information and door control in Tirana and beyond according to a road map and co-operation with ECDC.
Cross-border collaboration for mosquito Control Plans to intervene in cases of outbreaks and exchange of information with neighboring countries.
A reinforced entomological Survey.
We remember that there are no vaccines for this disease in humans, but the best way to prevent mosquito bites from being infected by the West Nile virus both in Albania and abroad is to prevent more and more insect bite.
