MPJ: Bosnia and Herzegovina must not confuse sport with politics

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo expresses deep regret for the unreasonable, long-standing delays and systematic difficulties of visa equipment procedures for members of Kosovo's U16 representative at the FIBA (U16) European Championship, which will be held in Sarajevo from 9 to more....
“Kosovo has become a full and equal member of the International Basketball Federation now for more than three years, so the attempt to impose political barriers with the apparent goal of jeopardising the participation of the representative of the Republic of Kosovo in this sporting event until the last moment not only violates the basic European principle of freedom of movement but also its rules of organisation, which we will seek responsibilities for, it is said in the MPJ communique.
The exercise of psychological pressure several days against Kosovo's representative in connection with these obstacles, while they have had to today, to hold their training in Sarajevo before facing the first match against Bosnia and Herzegovina tomorrow is malicious and unsportable.
The Kosovo Republic Foreign Affairs Ministry reminds Bosnia and Herzegovina that despite political positions representatives of the Republic of Kosovo in sports, representatives have participated, respected and honoured with their state symbols and flag, even from state authorities and representatives of the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls the European Union and allied states and partners to react urgently to the issue.
