Albania's Diaspora Minister Pandeli Majko, through a Facebook text, has clarified that the statement given in Skenderaj for free movement between Kosovo citizens and Albania has nothing to do with the National Union. Free movement says it does not understand changing borders.
The current topic that is leading the debates in Kosovo and Albania is the idea of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci for border correction. PD deputy Tritan Shehu is also on the line.
Shehu assumed that the idea of changing borders was opened by Mako's statement. But the minister denies it.
“Connecting the desire for free movement of people and goods between Albania and Kosovo, with the topic of changing borders, is irresponsible. This topic has been agreed on between Albania and Kosovo and was again reaffirmed by Prime Minister Haradinaj during his recent visit to Vlora”, Majko says.
Majko next points out that free movement does not change borders.
Majko stated last week that Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has made the decision as of January 1st, 2019 to have no border between Kosovo and Albania. This green light process has also given Rama's Kosovo counterpart, Ramush Haradinaj.
“Ending limit” as a term, used in embargo cases... Free movement does not change borders. Change of the border is not functional in the new times of the European integration process. Albania and Kosovo cannot do two different things at the same time. These two states cannot be “and” to integrate. European integration is a process where Albanians have entered as they represent their interests. That makes them protagonists and not cowards. Of course”, Majko is finished.
