“The EU is committed to co-finance infrastructure projects for liquid gas for a value of 638m euros. At this point it is funding 14, which will increase capacity to 15 billion cubic metres by 2021, and that in market conditions and price competitiveness, it can absorb the imports of liquid natural gas coming from the US”, he added.
Currently, American legislation envisions export of liquid natural gas to Europe
For liquid US natural gas to be exported to the EU, these restrictions must be lifted and regulations set by the United States should be simplified. On August 20th, there will be a new meeting in Washington between the EU and the US, between Juncker and President Trump's advisers.
