The capital continues to top the list with 1,897 divorce cases in 2017, followed by Vlora, Elbasan, Fieri, Shkodra and Korca. Puka and Tropoja remain the most conservative cities of family tradition, marking only 40 and 44 cases respectively.
According to court psychologists, the biggest cause leading to family breakdown is immigration, with major social problems producing, mainly as a result of men leaving. In second place is gambling. Researchers are women who want to protect their children and property from gambling by men. The demand for divorce as a result of men's involvement in the games of fate has come from adulthood, which corresponds to the extent of this phenomenon in every city and village in the country. Other reasons for divorce, according to statistics, are poverty, adultery, violence, and alcohol.
In 2015, according to Justice Ministry statistics, a decline in divorce requirements was seen, but in the following years, the pace has only been on the rise.
Last year in lawsuits for family matters, 103 were for failing to pay off the food pension from one of their parents after the divorce, 54 for recognition of her fathership and just as much for her recognition.
