Most complaints are against authorities of electronic services, post offices, authorities for water, energy services and the Central Bank of Kosovo. This has made the chairman of the Council for Protection of Consumers announced during a media conference.
The Council for Consumer Protection has held a media conference regarding approval of the Consumer Protection Law, implementation of the programme for protection and expansion of the council with new members.
The board's chairman, Sheriff Fejzullahu, has said that this council is aimed at alerting consumers to report the injustices to them.
According to Feyzullahu, since the recent media conference, held six months ago, the number of requests and complaints by consumers has increased for 70%, showing the importance of media in awareness of citizens.
While Council for Consumer Protection member Selatina Kacanik, chairman of the association “Consumer”, has said the completed law guarantees consumer safety.
According to the chairman of the Council, the participation of inspectorate members in the council has prompted the two sides to co-operate even more.
The Council for Consumer Protection currently consists of seven members and is expected to soon expand with the addition of four civil societies and five representatives from regulatory entities.
