Like other times, this year citizens of Islam have visited the cemetery of their relatives on the occasion of the festival of Kurban-Bajram.
The cemetery visits are a tradition of Islam, which serves citizens to remember with their loved ones who have died to pray for them but also to remember death and life.
Zeqir Berisha, from Pristina, also attends his father's grave each year.
I visited my father's grave 20 years ago. Usually for parties we always feel like visiting. This is a tradition of our”, Berisha said.
However, the cemetery situation was not at the right level, since cleaning from the grass had not been properly removed.
Inside the burial space were clusters of weed and trash until there was seen any city laborer maintaining them on this day when many citizens visit the tombs of their loved ones.
However, there were private workers, who were paid by citizens to clear tombs from many grasses. But Berisha estimates that generally space within the cemetery is well maintained.
“Yes, I see that the beautiful grass is mowing well, the roads are good, generally good”, he said.
However, other citizens who refused to speak before the camera had complaints about not cleaning up the proper space in the cemetery, but also about, as they said, usurping spaces within the cemetery.
