New borders mean new wars

The president of the Social Democrat League of Vojvodina (LSV), Nenad Canak, has said he strongly opposes changing borders in the Balkans and has estimated that such a thing would bring new wars. We remember that borders are changed only by war and that we don't believe in the agreed territorial exchange account and change [...]
We remember that borders are changed only by war, and we don't believe in the agreed exchange story of territory and the peaceful change of borders. Even in the wars of the ninth century, we have been convinced of the human population of mankind, and we know that it has ended with tragedy for millions of people in this region. Even less do we believe in the account about correction of borders, because any exchange of territory means exchange of population and new ethnic cleansing”, Canak said in a media statement, Coha.net broadcasts.
He has called on politicians in Pristina and Belgrade not to think about territorial categories and to devote themselves to improving people's lives and improving human and minority rights and freedoms, because with such an approach, they contribute to the importance of borders that should be open.
We remember that in the wars of the 1990s, rivers have been bleeding, there have been 130 thousand people killed, tens of thousands have been raped, and millions of others have been displaced from their homes, and no border has changed. It is illusion to think that the lives of ordinary people would improve if Kosovo's north and Presevo Valley changed the state framework”, Canak added.
According to him, the exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia inevitable would lead to the legitimacy of the wrong model of ethnic rounding of states.
With this principle, our region has developed wars”, he said, while adding that there would be “domino effect” and other Balkan countries
He added that LSV supports continuing dialogue in Brussels because it thinks compromise solutions should be found.
