After granting positive visa recommendation from the European Commission (KE), this year's process for Kosovo visas will be passed on to the European Parliament's Law Committee. But despite that, Kosovo citizens will be able to come out of “grills” to the second half of 2019.
While the European Union has not yet given any date when Kosovo will eventually receive liberalisation, European Union officials say convinced that Kosovo has met the criteria set by the EU and that visas are now procedural issues.
Representatives of institutions in the country also estimate that this year Kosovo will receive visa liberalisation, as it has already met all criteria required by the EU.
But integration issues connoisseurs say that by the summer of next year Kosovo citizens will not be able to move freely through EU countries, because Kosovo's visa procedures can be extended if eventually Kosovo is also set any informal criteria for EU visas...
