The chief of Kosovo's technical team in dialogue with Serbia, Avni Arifi, says that Ujman's (Gazioda) lake belongs to the state of Kosovo, and anyone who claims to adopt it will make “an aggression” against Kosovo.
Arifi said that Kosovo with these borders has been recognised by over 100 states, so the embezzlement of every part of Kosovo territory would be aggression. These comments followed statements by Serbian officials, who said Weyman's share is of strategic importance to the survival of Serbs in the north.
“As far as the state of Kosovo, Gazivoda Lake (Wyman) is part of the state of Kosovo, is part of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, and anyone who claims to adopt it commits aggression in the state of Kosovo. 116 states have recognised Kosovo on these borders, the people of Kosovo have declared Kosovo's independence on these borders, and whoever claims Gazivoda, Pristina, Peja, Gjilan, or any part of its territory (Kosovo), is the open tendency for aggression, and as such will have the answer of the people of Kosovo”, Free Europe told Radio Avni Arifi.
The Uyman Lake, located in northern Kosovo, is the largest in the country. It is managed by Serbs.
Despite the economic importance this lake represents, Arifi says that even no economic importance would have taken place, yet the embezzlement of this territory would present aggression.
