The training equipment was lowered to Indzirlik”, Matisse told reporters at the Pentagon, speaking of the strategic air base in southern Turkey, which is exploited by American forces.
This announcement comes after a period of cooling relations between the two countries, as Turkey has asked the US to extradite cleric Fetullah Gtlen, who is accused by Turkey of standing behind the failed coup committed in July 2016. Turkey has also accused the US of arming Kurds in Syria.
