Part of the delegation led by President Hashim Thaci are the prime minister, Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselin, Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli, Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj and Dardan Gashi.
The delegation will consist of all parliamentary parties, part of the coalition, but there have refused to go opposition parties.
Kosovo's “Democratic League estimates that the leaders of current institutions and other individuals displaced in power for political change, who are expected to travel to Brussels, have no authority, no legitimacy or popular support to represent the Republic of Kosovo in the dialogue with Serbia”, said in the LDK communiqué.
“The LDK considers that this group of people that only connects the ruling remnant, which do not represent more than 40 %s of citizens, do not do honor and cannot speak and make decisions on behalf of Kosovo citizens, having no support from the Republic of Kosovo's Assembly. The LDK considers that only new national elections can produce legitimate institutions to advance all important processes for the state, as well as to prevent the full institutional, political and economic degradation that plague Kosovo”, it is further said.
The LDK says it supports the EU and US-mediated dialogue process for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia. But, according to her, this process can only be brought forward by legitimate institutions derived from new, free and democratic elections, as well as a broad institutional, political and social consensus.
