One of the anti-Iran statements at the Washington meeting, signed by the US, Canada, Gibuti, Kosovo and the United Arab Emirates, has accused Iran of discrimination against religious minorities, reports Tatnimnews.
In his reaction, Qassemi has criticised this anti-Iran statement as pure interference in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic and one that is based on incorrect, unilateral and unrealistic data.
“The US and others who violate and ignore the most natural and human rights are not in position to make unilateral judgments against other countries with cultural diversity”, he said, Time broadcasts.
Pointing to the freedom of religion guaranteed by the Constitution of Iran, the spokesman said: “History of Iran has always witnessed the peaceful co-existence of various religions, and currently, all monotheistic religions in Iran enjoy full civil rights and are actively represented in the Parliament and other elected body”.
He also condemned the imaginary “analysis” of the US vice president, Mike Pence, on freedom of religion in Iran, saying that “iranians, with all religions and ethnicities, have freely implemented their religious rituals in their holy places throughout their country throughout history”.
