This year's free for Kosovo

Kosovo has faced torrential rains this year, where no flooding has been absent. As a result, agricultural cultures in many municipalities in the country have been damaged. This has also affected the harvest process, respectively, in wheat culture. Isuf Cikaqi, director of the Department of Agriculture and Marketing in the MBPHR, has [...]
Isuf Cikaqi, director of the Department of Agricultural Policy and Markets in the MBPZHR, has said that recent days' rainfall has affected the quality of wheat and its lowest amount.
<x0). But now we're talking about the rainfall that these days have been continuous and about the wheat culture that is in the process of harvesting crops and we can say that up until now these rainfall has affected the quality of wheat, especially according to information we have from the ground, has caused the reduction of hectolitors which directly affects the quality of wheat”, Cakiqi said.
Cakqiqi has said that at first quality and productivity has been quite good and high-level. But rain rains have, according to him, contributed to lowering the quality and quantity of grain in the rest of the harvest.
We're talking about this time, because when the wheat was beginning to harvest, the quality and quantity were very high. But unfortunately there has been much rainfall and this amount of wheat that has not been harvested and which will be harvested these days, normally with these rainfalls there will be a decrease, to one point it will reduce the quality of wheat”, it has added further.
Cachiqi has added that according to information from the ground, up to now over 60 percent of the wheat surfaces have been harvested, while about 40% has remained to be completed. But the problem with that turns out to be climate conditions that are affording the realization of harvesting crops.
“Zaconally, the harvest process of white cereals in the Republic of Kosovo takes place from the last days of June until the end of July, approximately three weeks or a month. In the last days of June, it started with the municipality of Prizren, Suhareka, and then gradually extended across the territory. But, immediately after the start of the harvesting process, rainfall has begun, then affecting the overall process, and beginning a few days late. Because when we have rainfall, it's impossible to complete harvesting through the autocontaining process. So far from the ground information, more than 60 percent have been harvested, 40 percent are still unreaped.
However, he hopes that these days this campaign will end.
But we hope that these days will be the best weather and this part of the harvest will be realised very quickly, at least given the large number of autoconses available at 1400 and the area of 40%. This harvests very quickly, if climate conditions allow us to be allowed, ” has added to the end of Cakiqi.
The MBPZHR, with a date of 18.06.2018, has organised and held a joint meeting with representatives of the Municipal Directors for Agriculture, the Association of wheat producers, as well as the Olive Association, where, among other things, it has been discussed on the harvest price for this year and as a proposal to this meeting has turned out to be the 100 euro/ha harvest price.
As in recent years, the Ministry of Agriculture has been able to increase the farmers' interest in planting the surfaces. The total amount of subsidies this year is 25m euros, while only for wheat culture is 9.5m euros.
Of course, subsidies have benefited farmers who have applied and met the criteria before
. Otherwise, BPZHR Minister Nenad Ricalo before the Commission for Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development has indicated that the value of damage caused by recent rainfall and hail in Kosovo amounts to 1m and 200 thousand euros, given the first estimates. /indysonline/
