The last few days have reportedly already begun building a new wall near the Iber River bridge aimed at dividing Albanians and Serbs.
The “Plan of the construction of the siege in the northern part of Mitrovica is the result of the agreement signed in Pristina on February 4th 2017 and in accordance with the Brussels agreement signed on August 25th 2015. This will link the EU's project to revis the bridge in Mitrovica and surrounding facilities, as well as the project to make King Petar's path unspoiled for pedestrians”, this office has said among others.
“All jobs are expected to end at the end of this month”, it is said in the statement.
At the end of 2016, the Northern Mitrovica municipality has built a two-foot long wall that sparked many reactions in Pristina.
The wall has collapsed in February 2017 following an agreement reached in Pristina between Albanian and Serbian representatives.
