Most of the 1, 504 deaths were the drownings that occurred when people tried to cross from Libya to Italy, the Missing Migrants Project reported “Al Jazeera”, Periscopi broadcast.
This was followed by 304 dead men who had led Spain and 89 to Greece.
The number of people who have arrived in Europe this year is 55, 001, an increase of 50 percent compared to last year.
And more than 640,000 people have arrived in Italy by ship from Africa in the last five years./Periscopi/
