Foresters in northern Australia have caught a 4.7m - long sea crocodile and 600 pounds [600 kg] heavy, one of the largest in the last eight years, local authorities said today.
The crocodile was first seen in 2010 and was caught by a trap set by a river.
Authorities have been trying to catch the crocodile for years, which according to estimates is about 60 years old.
Foresters catch about 250 crocodiles each year, considered potentially dangerous for the local population, broadcast Kosovo Preress.
The captured crocodile has been sent to a farm and is one of the largest samples of its kind in that part of Australia.
After catching the crocodile, foresters said that they could admire only size and age.
“Follow the crocodile, we can only have respect,” they said.
