Because Serbia does not implement the energy agreement, Kosovo continues to draw energy unauthorisedly from the continental Energy System network.
This, in order to cover up unarched energy losses in the country's northern municipalities, writes Koha Ditore today.
According to System Operator, Transmission and Energy Market (KOSTT), from April 1st until now from Europe's intercontroversial system has withdrawn 33 gigaves of energy into this form.
Before December last year, unpaid energy in the north was compensated through citizen bills in other parts of the country. This practice was interrupted because the ombudsman had concluded that it constituted violations of the rights of Kosovo citizens.
This institution had found that about 5.24 per cent of the energy demand, or about 8m euros, had been spent by municipalities in northern Kosovo largely inhabited by Serb majority, while the costs of this energy had been billed to the rest of Kosovo citizens.
