Donald Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by two Norwegian politicians after his historic meeting with Kim Jong Un.
Christian Tybring-Gedde, an MP and former Justice Minister Per-Willy Amundsen, said Trump “had taken a major and important step towards disarmament, peace and reconciliation between North and South Korea”.
Both men are politicians in the Progressive Party.
A group of Republican politicians nominated Trump for the award in May.
The candidate review process for this award takes place in Norway, and appointments must be sent to the Nobel Committee before February.
