Thaci takes near himself the former chief of AKI (Document)

The former head of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, Driton Gashi, could soon be appointed to the position of secretary of the President's Office. Gashi, who resigned from the position of AKI chief following the scandal to expel six Turkish citizens from Kosovo, could be rewarded with another important position by President Hashim [...]
A Public Administration Ministry decision reportedly shows that Gashi, along with two other candidates, are potential candidates for further procedures in the appointment of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo's Office.
The Commission for the Criterisation suggests that in the race for this position besides Gashi, there are also Speed Niskori and Isa Lahi, Periscopi reports.

The following ruling does not provide further details about how the race between these three candidates for the Secretary's post at the Thaci Office will flow away.
But the favourite for this race is former AKI chief Driton Gashi, due to the closeness he reportedly has with President Hashim Thaci.
And the latter's name has been involved in the scandal with the expulsion of six Turkish citizens from Kosovo, who were told to have been identified as gylenists.
The same had been deported to Turkey, where they were facing imprisonment.
Gashi's resignation from AKI following the scandal with Turks had asked Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who had declared he was not informed about the action to expel the gilens.
Openly against Gashi's resignation had the office of President Hashim Thaci, where Gashi is now running for the secretary's position, Periscopi reports.
In his office, the president had said he did not support the prime minister's request without completing the investigation, and without seeing what has been AKI's responsibility for the action.
And on the other hand, Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan had thanked Kosovo Intelligence for the action.
The appointment of the AKI director is made by the president in co-ordination with the prime minister of Kosovo, and he serves as security adviser to both state officials.
But that was also true in the case of Driton Gashi.
It was reported in the media that the latter had only informed the president of the expulsion of gylenists, though such a thing had been denied by him.
It was often reported in the media that it was President Thaci who had brought Gashi to the top of AKI because of his closeness with him. /Periscopi
