Thaci confessed to dialogue: Final phase will be heavy, risk believing as Cyprus' Palestine

Thaci said further that the final phase of the dialogue should be completed with normalisation of relations between the two states, construction of good reports and mutual recognition.

“Motive to dialogue remains the desire for our citizens to build a safe European peace and future. For more than two decades, Kosovo has sought dialogue to resolve the context with Serbia. Throughout this process Kosovo has been constructive and open”, he has declared.

The country's first has provided details for the last meeting it had in Brussels with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq and EU representative Frederica Moghrin.

We have been co-operative at the last meeting with the search for options for what can be achieved in this process and to see what is impossible to achieve in this final phase of dialogue. This was the first meeting, and the following months will be discussed the substance of the final agreement. So far, it's only been discussed for Croatia's deal, nothing more. We are expecting an invitation from Moghrin, but now we know that the agreement will be binding on both sides”, he says.

Thaci cited political parties' tables in Kosovo as fact that all have already expressed in favour of dialogue.

All in Kosovo are expressed in favour of dialogue. Political parties are holding the table for dialogue, and I expect to find a solution to how they will be involved in this process, so that they can then take credit for the historic outcome that could happen. We need to reach a consensus as fast as possible, because time is running out. I invite experts, academics, civil society and media to become part of this dialogue. There must be full transparency and responsibility. I am willing that even now as president I am addressed in informing and reporting the Government's Parliament on the final phase of dialogue”, Thaci said.

He added that the final agreement to be reached with Serbia would be sent to the Assembly for ratification.

“In the end, the agreement will be sent for ratification in the Assembly to get MPs' votes. Talks in this final phase expect to be serious and difficult. It is a conflict more than a century ago that I expect to conclude with peaceful agreement”, he said.

The president said the final agreement with Serbia is necessary for the country's membership in the UN, NATO and the EU.

While he guaranteed that Kosovo has US support in the process.

At the end of the process there must be mutual recognition, or they will be meaningless. Kosovo also has US support in the dialogue. The EU is also interested in reaching normalisation agreement as a condition for membership. I want to assure Kosovo citizens that the process will be transparent, responsible. I will defend the interest of the country, as I have done all my life. After a statement, we have a refocusing of the international community for Kosovo and the Western Balkans. There should be reconciliation, recognition and integration of Kosovo into NATO and the EU. It is possible that we dare not lose him, otherwise we remain in position of the gym or Northern Cyprus”, he added./Periscopi
