Shots: Kosovo showing results in fight against corruption

European Integration Minister Dona Hoxha said today that all conditions for visa liberalisation have been met, so in June strong signals for implementation as a whole of these conditions are expected in order to move away with the visa liberalisation process. She made these comments at the meeting with the rapporteur of the Parliament [...]
She made these comments at the meeting with European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo Igor Sholtes, with whom she discussed visa liberalisation and meeting the criteria for this important issue for Kosovo citizens.
“Fighting organised crime and corruption is not related to deadlines, so we consider that even after the visa regime for Kosovo is lifted, local institutions will not stop fighting these” phenomena, Minister Hoxha said.
She added that citizens expect Kosovo's progress to be assessed by European Union institutions.
While the European Parliament rapporteur reaffirmed that Kosovo should not allow corruption to hinder the integration process's progress, noting that fighting organised crime and corruption is undoubtedly a priority for the EU, especially when it comes to fighting high-level corruption Kosovo must continue to show results.
