Tens of members of the Serb community from Kosovo have gathered in Gazimestan, on the outskirts of Pristina to mark Vidovdan, or St. Vid's Day. Holy liturgy was held at the Gracanica Monastery, while from 1: 00 p.m., manifestoism began in Gazimestan, which is usually followed by a Serbian Orthodox religious ritual.
Collective citizens held the flags of Serbia and Russia in their hands.
Kosovo police said they have drafted an operational plan and have undertaken all necessary measures for maintaining order and public security.
The Kosovo government said it has not given permission to enter Kosovo to Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who warned participation in the manifesto in Gazimestan.
The Office for Kosovo of the Government of Serbia said it is a scandalous “action” of the Government of Kosovo.
It is clear that such a decision has been brought into co-ordination between Pristina and the European Ministry for Foreign Affairs in order to humiliate Serbia”, the Office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government said through a communiqué.
Jetir Zyberaj, adviser to Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli, said through a Facebook post that Kosovo police will implement the law in the event of anyone's illegal introduction on Kosovo territory.
The St. Vid Day sign relates to the 629th anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo, which Serbian history recognises as its spiritual victory despite the loss of Balkan forces by forces of the Ottoman Empire, as well as the murder of Serbian Prince Lazarus.
