Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark today proposed to Brussels as the final solution for refugees from the Middle East, the establishment within this year of a permanent asylum camp, in a European continent state, but outside the borders of the European Union.
Chancellor Kurz did not disclose the name of the state that has agreed to house all illegal immigrants who are brought across the Balkan borders and those who have managed to enter European borders, but diplomatic sources are taught that one of the favourites is Albania.
We have undertaken an initiative that we have coordinated with several other EU states. I think that when people move illegally across Europe, they can choose the destination they prefer to apply for asylum. This is not the right approach, it shouldn't happen. Our proposal is that these people who are looking for asylum be offered humanitarian protection outside EU borders, in a country within our continent. That way we can offer these people humanitarian protection if necessary, but they will not be able to choose the state that wants to seek asylum. We've started contacts to find the best solution, and there's progress so far in discussing this matter”.
European Commission President Juncker has not rejected this idea.
The subx0> dealing with illegal immigration is a European issue, but at the same time the national issue of each member state, so such an initiative is not rejected. When it comes to illegal immigration issues, a consensus solution should be found between us at the end of June. For me, protecting Europe's external borders is a priority on other questions”.
In addition to establishing the largest refugee camp outside EU borders, Austria has proposed at the meeting of interior ministers of states from which the new refugee flow is going through to protect their borders with military forces. Several days ago, Bulgarian Prime Minister Borissov proposed that even returning Islamic State fighters be managed by a co-ordination centre in the Albanian capital. /Kan plus
