Serbs mercenaries who fight side by side with Russian forces in Ukraine for division seem to have begun to fear for their future.

This is because some of them have been disguised in order to cover up their activities, while a large part of them have completely closed social networking profiles.

One of those who has changed the view for this purpose is Goran Gerovac, former associate of the Serbian criminal Zeljko Rajnjatovic-Khan, who has fought arms of Russian rebels in Ukraine.

Gerovac is not unknown in Kosovo. He has participated in Kosovo's fight against the Kosovo Liberation Army, while after the war he has worked within UNMIK.

Even according to security expert Agim Musliu, Gerovac himself has acknowledged the fact that he fought side by side with the Serbian army and police.

Musliu, has declared for Kosovo Press that not only Gerovac but also many others are known war criminals in the territories of the former Yugoslavia, until he adds that most of them have been participants in the 1998 and 1999.

“Goran Gerovac is the remains of the Arkan Guard and the state security worker of the Serbian Secret Service, who has conducted various operations throughout the territory of Yugoslavia, but has also participated in the war in Kosovo against the Kosovo people during the 1990s. This Serb-Russian brotherhood dates back to the nineth, when Russian paramilitaries have actively participated in the fight against the Albanian people and since then it works actively... Gerovac after the recent war in Kosovo has infiltrated and been a UN worker in Kosovo, but his wife also worked on Radio KFOR as a journalist. He has been a Serbian state security agent infiltrated in the United Nations and has received and conveyed first-hand information to”, Musliu says.

As for changing their appearance, Musliu says it is because of fear.

The “is about a group of 300 paramilitaries who are known for their participation in the Yugoslavia war, but also in Kosovo. Why do they change their identity and disappear from the public, even though they've come to embrace the Russians at the beginning and armed in the part of Ukraine where war takes place between Ukraine and the prorus forces is fear. Fear of punishment if they return to Serbia. Serbia has approved a law which is the condition of the EU for participation in foreign wars, which is obliged to respect, and the second could also be punishment by the Russians themselves because these are mercenaries there and are paid. And the third is that after every unfair war, an international trial appears which condemns war crimes”, Musliu said.

Media researcher Arben Fetosti has identified three factors for Kosovo that have influenced the hiding of Serbian prorus mercenaries.

According to him, weakening Russia's position, tensions in Ukraine-Serbia relations precisely because of the participation of these mercenaries in behalf of Russian forces in Ukraine, as well as consolidating the Western's counteraction on detection and preventing the effects of Russian propaganda are the reasons for changing their identity and abandoning social networks from them.

There is actually a weakening of the Russian position in the world, which I believe is reflected also in the direct military acts Russia assumes in certain parts of the world and in this case it is not only Ukraine, it is Syria. And the fact that we have Serbian mercenaries fighting support Russian forces in Ukraine and also in Syria testifies to the ideological consistence between them. And I believe it reflects every time the Russian power looks great in the world. Of course, it signals the motive of mercenaries to fight for Serbian forces, and when their motive necessarily falls”, he said.

The Russians in Ukraine began to appear immediately after the crime was annexed. The first were the centiates, and then a whole range that counted more than 300 mercenaries.

So far, there is no evidence that Serbia has launched investigations into any of them despite the legal regulation that prohibits the participation of Serbian citizens in foreign wars. Ukrainian Ambassador to Belgrade Oleksandr Alexandrovic has also said that “around 300 Serbs fight east of Ukraine on the side of Russian terrorists. We have sent this information to the secret services in Serbia, but unfortunately we have never received a reply from”.

If Ukraine, a considerable number of Serbs have also participated in the Syria conflict, supporting dictator Bashar Al Assad.
