Kosovo will face Hungary on 28 June, and on 1 July it will face Poland.
Our representative will play both games from 20:30 in Pristina's small gym of the Youth and Sports Palace.
After the tragic event that took place on Saturday morning, where Kosovo Representative Gazmend Sinani's basketball player, Gazmend Sinani, lost his life and three other basketball players -- the knights of Granit Rugova, Altin Morina and physicalotherapite, Cameron Shala, the Kosovo Basketball Federation (FBK) -- have applied at FIBA for failing to develop these two matches, but the latter has today been filled with regret. FBK that matches should be held.
The number one of FBK, Arben Fetah, has confirmed this:
Saturday's “we are in constant contact with top FIBA officials looking at the possibility of not developing two matches, which was our only request, because we are still in shock after all that happened to us two days ago. But today FIBA has officially informed us that the matches should be held according to the programme before because there are no other terms available, because the schedule of qualifications for the 201950 World Cup moves. And also because of television rights, contracts with sponsors and obligations that have been undertaken, FIBA couldn't push the fights”.
It should be noted that in both matches the Federation of Kosovo Basketball has decided that the doors will be open (free of charge) and encourages all sports fans to be in large numbers in the moral support of the Kosovo representative, who now needs more than ever that kind of support.
