Kosovo Mayors to receive 70 per cent of pay for five years after retirement

The Kosovo government has decided that the director of AKI, deputy director and chief inspector of AKI after the mandate ends to receive 70 per cent of their salary for five years.

Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said there have been cases where the director has interrupted the mandate while, as he said, AKI is an archive of information and it is especially dangerous to expose these first three positions.

We risk too much to leave these positions unprotected if they're not at work. Kosovo, under the obligations it gives them, in preserving the work secret, was taken over the cover for a specific time of several years”, Haradinaj said.
