Hermes Birkin's hand bag, used for 10 years, is sold at auction for incredible prices

The 2008 bag Himalaya Birkin, with a 18-karrat gold key and a diamond inside it, exceeded Tuesday's original $150,000 prize.

The record for a bag sold at auction was also a Hermes Birkin bag, is $330,000 and sold in Hong Kong in 2017.

The 10-year-old crockin bag is said to be in good condition, with no apparent flaws.

Its measure is only 30cm wide, less than normal Birkin, made from the skin of the Nile crocodile and contains diamonds.

Its name is related to its color, which brings to mind the snow - filled peaks of the Himalayas.

A blue version of the bag, 2006, was sold for 100,000 pounds at the same auction Tuesday.

The new Birkin bags start at 7,000 pounds, but it's not easy to buy because there's a long waiting list of known names.

The luxury house of the mode of Hermes originally designed what came to be known as Birkin' in 1981.
