The author of the report about judicial practice in Serbia in connection with anti-state indictments for compensation, Mihailo Pavllovic, at a news conference held in Belgrade, said local courts have refused to implement the provision under which such acts are not aged within three or five years, however, courts have decided largely at the expense of the victims.
FDH stresses that neither the Constitutional Court of Serbia has provided needed assistance to clarify the problem of aging, FoNet reports.
Ivana Janic of FDH considers that local courts using the principle of aging have violated international provisions and the UN Resolution, in which it is said that the age provision is not valid for internationally regulated crimes.
She said the Fund's lawyers have represented more than a thousand victims who have indicted the state of Serbia, among them Croats, Bosniaks and Albanians.
