The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has announced that accepted remittances in Kosovo, which simultaneously represent the largest category under the secondary income account, marked the value of 759.2m euros, which represents an annual growth of 9.9 per cent.
Kosovo's “Remits come mainly from Germany and Switzerland, those countries that send 39.3 per cent, respectively, of the total remittances accepted in Kosovo. A significant portion of the remittances have also been accepted by the United States, or 7.0 percent of the total remittances”, the CEC's annual report reports RTKlive.
According to the CEC, Foreign Direct Investment (IHD) in Kosovo amounted to 287.8m euros, which represents a 30.8 percent increase compared to 2016.
“Under the IHD structure, with value growth characterised capital and investment fund in shares, while investments in the debt instruments marked drop”, the report said.
