Chocolate: Thaci willing to report before the Assembly

Meanwhile today, Kosovo President Bekim Colak's chief of staff has indicated that Kosovo representatives are ready for any meeting called by the European Union.

Colak has also indicated that the president is willing to report to the deputies of the Kosovo Assembly at any time they call for such a thing.

Sunday's “Meeting was the first meeting called by the European Union's mediator, Federica Moghrini, within the European Union for dialogue on normalising relations and marks as I said the first leg of the final phase of this highly important dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. As at any other meeting so far in the context of this dialogue, even this meeting in the highest political format has had its significance, its dynamics and normally knowing that this is the last phase has been discussed in the openest possible aspect of modalities, with possibilities, options related to what is possible, and what is impossible to achieve as a result of this final phase of dialogue. This was just the first meeting, and in other days, in other substance meetings of a final event agreement remains to be addressed, discussed and negotiated at the many next meetings, which will be held next”, Colak said.

Colak has also said that based on discussions held Sunday, they expect very soon to have the next European Union invitation for such a meeting.

“Based on the discussions we've had on Sunday, I expect that in a very short time, but as always on the side involved in this process, we expect the official invitation of the Moghrin mediator and whenever the invitation is addressed we are willing to respond positively. I expect the next meeting to be held in a short time. Kosovo's president remained completely open and transparent in this dialogue and, as you have heard himself before leaving for this meeting of the final phase, he has made public invitation to all political subjects, civil society, experts and media to play their role in this process, as it is the most important process in which the Republic of Kosovo is going through. Given that, in transparency and accountability, of course, Kosovo's president is fully willing to respond to any invitation that comes within the Republic of Kosovo even to inform MPs even to report before the Kosovo Assembly. But the mode of this account certainly remains to be determined by the Assembly of Kosovo, while in turn we confirm the president's full readiness to be present as often as the assembly is asking for, Colaku added.

Kosovo President Colak's chief of staff has also declared that they expect political parties in the country to make a decision about how they will be involved in the process very soon.

“Political, opposition and status parties are in internal political dialogue and we have seen the latest initiatives of both political tables, whether through various initiatives that are organised formal and informal. Hopefully, they are in the final phase of making an adequate decision about how they will be involved in this process. But I said it earlier because of the high sensitivity of this issue within our commitments, I think it's very important that this consensus be reached as quickly as time is moving, the process is moving and we can't stop in this process. The sooner parties make such a decision, the better it will be for Kosovo and for the negotiating team in Brussels to unite around a common political platform. We expect good news but decision-making belongs to political subjects in this process but we can only encourage them to make this positive decision-making as soon as possible because it's necessary and I think that citizens are also looking for it. But under any circumstances Kosovo remains locked in dialogue, remains committed to dialogue and will always respond positively to the invitation coming from the European Union for next meetings”, Colak has concluded. /indysonline/
