Last year the Kosovo government had signed the agreement with the London-based American firm for the value of $1.2 billion.
Kosovo is said to be in battle with energy shortages. About 90% of energy is produced from coal, viewed as one of the largest pollutants in Europe.
The World Bank has said that “is finalising an option study”
The rate of technological changes in the energy sector is moving rapidly, especially in renewable resources, such as solar and wind, for which prices continue to fall”, a World Bank spokesman for Reuters has said.
