Over 1500 illegal waste depots in Kosovo

According to today's released assessment, for Kosovo's illegal waste dumps, 44 per cent of waste is waste from households, while the city with mostly illegal deposits is Prizren.
This assessment has been made during May and June 2017 by the Kosovo Environment Protection Agency, in collaboration with officials, municipal inspectors respectively, with the support of the German Open Society Organisation GIZ, submits Telegrafi.
Of the 1,572 illegal warehouses that have been identified, according to the estimate, 45% are large deposits, 36% are middle depots, while 17% are small warehouses.
According to the type of waste, 44% consists of household waste, 47% are construction and demining waste, 2% are dangerous waste, 5% are volume waste and 2% are other waste.
While, according to collected data, the Pec region has the smallest number of illegal warehouses (49), while the Prizren region has the largest number of illegal warehouses in Kosovo (498).
